Digital Spy sat down with the lovely quartet to talk about their opinion on X Factor, their upcoming debut album and more. Read some excerpts below:
Are you excited for the new series of the show?
Jesy: “It’s great but also sad. We don’t want our year to end – we want to be the winners forever!”Perrie: “I suppose people still talk about Leona, JLS, Alexandra Burke and all them. Maybe it won’t be so bad.”
You’ve opted for a different sound compared to the dance music that’s dominating the charts at the moment…
Perrie:“It feels like everyone at the moment really has to step up their game because the music out there at the moment is so amazing. Rita Ora, Rihanna, Chris Brown…Jade: “Our song isn’t as clubby as everything out there which hopefully means it will stand out. It was really important for us to bring something fresh and different to the table.”
Is the album finished yet?
Jesy: “It’s pretty much finished. We’re just finalising a few songs and perfecting bits here and there. We’re so excited for everyone to hear it. It’s very versatile – it definitely has what we would call the Little Mix flavour on there.”

What song are you most proud of on it?
Leigh-Anne: “We love all the songs on the album but we’re probably most proud of the stuff we’ve written or had a big hand in. It’s nice to sing words that have come from you, but each song is our favourite for completely different reasons.
Jesy: “We’ve played it to our friends and family and everyone is coming back to us with different favourite tracks, which we hope is a good sign!”

We know you’re all fans of the Spice Girls; would you like to see more of them after their closing ceremony performance?
Perrie: “Oh my god, we were there and it was the most amazing thing. I didn’t think I would be able to stop crying. It was a bit embarassing.”
Jesy: “We were all the biggest fans of them. We had the posters, the duvets…”
Leigh-Anne: “When they performed at the Olympics it didn’t feel like they’d ever been apart. I really hope they do something else together again soon. Who wouldn’t love it?”
